Dr. Alvarado was born in Portland, Oregon and completed his undergraduate degree at Oregon State University. His love of science inspired him to apply to medical school. Becoming a doctor was a way Dr. Alvarado could combine his love for science and his interest in interacting with patients into a fulfilling career.
He obtained his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University and then completed a surgery internship at the University of Colorado. Dr. Alvarado then completed both his residency and fellowship at the University of Southern California.
Additionally, Dr. Alvarado completed a multidisciplinary fellowship at the Ketamine Infusion Center for Pain, which is the largest academic infusion center in California. The fellowship involved training in physical therapy, occupational therapy and surgery at a large county hospital, a private academic institution, and a cancer center.
Since 2013, Dr. Alvarado has been a physician specializing in pain medicine. He currently is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is board eligible, ACLS certified, and BLS certified.
Dr. Alvarado desires to make a positive impact on his patients’ lives. He cares about his patients and will do anything in his disposal to improve their quality of life.
In his free time, Dr. Alvarado likes to spend time with his fiancée, Alexis, and his Chihuahua. Additionally, he enjoys golfing, working out, and participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and skiing.
